David Lewis (academic)

==Background==
David Lewis grew up in Bearsden, Scotland and in Bath in the west of England. He read social anthropology at the University of Cambridge (BA/MA 1983). He has a PhD in development studies from the University of Bath (1989). Before becoming a lecturer at the London School of Economics in 1995, he was briefly a freelance development researcher and consultant. He became a Full Professor in 2009.
